From October 1951, the library resources were made available to the readers. The library has opted open access right from the beginning. Now it has an independent building since 1981 located on an elevated spot surrounded by beautiful greenery. During 1994 it was named as Prof. S. S.      The building has a carpet area of around 50,000 sq.ft. It houses more than 4 lakhs books in its four huge stack rooms. It facilitates about 300 students to read at a time in the two big reading halls. The 24X7 open separate reading room facility and paragolas for open green learning space are unique features of this University library. Prof. S. S.
